Is Ted Cruz as Tough as Donald Trump?

By David Limbaugh | March 6, 2016

A Donald Trump supporter told me she likes Ted Cruz but doesn’t believe he is tough enough to handle the powerful forces he’d face in the general election and asked me to convince her otherwise.

Here is a summary of what I told her.

I think you overestimate the power of those forces — a crippled Hillary Clinton team and weakened Democrats. And I gather you mistake Trump’s toughness in business for the muscular resolve he’d need in public office — while underestimating Cruz’s steel backbone.

The only way to reverse the statism and autocratic lawlessness beleaguering America is through conservative principles. Trump has no conservative core, so no matter how tough he is, I see nothing to convince me he would fight for principles he barely believes in.

Ten Days Will Decide Whether Cruz Can Seize Thunder From Trump

By RED JAHNCKE, Special to the Sun | March 6, 2016

Super Saturday, when Senator Cruz won 15 more delegates than Donald Trump, marks the beginning of the end of Trumpmania. Mr. Cruz won Kansas and Maine by big double-digit margins, while Mr. Trump nosed out Cruz in Louisiana and Kentucky only by margins of but 3% and 4%.

During the day, a new ARG poll in Michigan showed Governor Kasich rocketing past Mr. Trump into first place, boding well for the Mr. Kasich in Tuesday’s contest in the Wolverine state and at week later at Ohio. Mr. Cruz’s performance on Saturday will enhance his prospects in the two states. Continue reading Ten Days Will Decide Whether Cruz Can Seize Thunder From Trump

Governor Greg Abbott Trusts Ted – You Should Too

Not Just An Endorsement – A Call To Action!

Not only has Greg Abbot know Cruz for many years, but he selected and trusted Cruz as the state’s Solicitor General, where Ted ran an office with hundreds of attorneys, and argued some of the most critical constitutional cases before the Supreme Court.

Quite a coup to be endorsed by both current and former governors of Texas, AND to be trusted by both of them to keep Washington of our backs. Go Ted!

Ted Cruz Primary Night Party And Speech

Recorded at Alpine Grove, where the Cruz post-primary party was held. Apologies for the poor focus during the speech – the lighting fooled the autofocus. What you can see is a good crowd, and lots of press – the main press platform at the rear overflowed, there were two rows of tables for reporters, and a separate table at the side where NPR set up.
There was a lot of excitement, and Ted’s speech was very well received, indeed, the room became raucous during his key lines:

Vote Cruz Today – Consistent, Experienced, TrusTED

Cruz is FAR more than a ‘first term senator’

Ted Cruz

  • Conservative? Ted fell in love with the Constitution and US history in middle school. Pastor Rafael Cruz says conservatism is hereditary – he learned it from his kid!
  • Smart and persuasive? A top debater, Cruz was praised by liberal law professor Alan Dershowitz, who called Ted one of the smartest students ever to attend Harvard Law.
  • Knows how the Supreme Court works – clerked for Chief Justice William Rehnquist.
  • Knows how to reduce regulation? As Steve points out at Granite Grok, during Ted’s stint at the Commerce Department, he worked to prevent regulation of Internet commerce.
  • Can run a large organization? As Solicitor General of Texas, Cruz led a team of hundreds of attorneys and their staff, and was considered extremely effective.
  • Protect and defend the Constitution? The state of Texas, under AG Abbott and Solicitor General Cruz, argued multiple constitutional cases before the Supreme Court, to great effect on the side of originalism.
  • Knows how to win? Cruz ran for senate against a very well funded establishment favorite, former Lt Gov David Dewhurst, and beat all odds with a convincing win in the final runoff (multiple contenders). It is worth noting, that while Gov Rick Perry supported Dewhurst in that race, he has since carefully evaluated and endorsed Ted Cruz for President.

I rest my case – Ted Cruz for President!
